The aim of the Humtour Limited Liability Company is to present social enterprises that take responsibility for sustaining the values of the countryside, while introducing special local traditions and wildlife through community-based and sustainable touristic programs.
Village tours offer guests a chance to engage with local communities on an intimate level. Stay over night in a homestay, learn to cook traditional food, participate in activities that demonstrate traditional livelihoods, handicrafts and highlight the surrounding nature.
My name is Ágnes Szabó-Diószeghy, I’m the founder of the Humtour LLC. Humtour is a marketplace where travelers can find exciting rural destinations in the countryside, they can live their travel experiences with validated, local guides. I’ve started to develop sustainable ecotourism programmes in 2014 as a tool for rural development.
Dynamic Tours and Incentives DMC Budapest joined the project in 2016 as a cooperation partner in order to provide a broader customer group to Humtour in Hungary and in neighbouring countries. Dynamic Tours DMC with more than 21 years of professional experience is based in Budapest. The agency is a key incoming tour operator in Hungary.
Sustainable tourism is an open system that is in rapport with its environment through its natural, social, economic, political and cultural elements. It is the duty of the sustainable tourism to promote this interference.
Several rural communities have already discovered the power of responsible tourism concerning the protection of nature and the development of local farms. At the same time, only the inhabitants of the villages and its surroundings are aware of the enterprises that aim to preserve the local natural and cultural heritage; thus, they lack resources and their fame is unable to reach big cities and international platforms. These programs can only compete with mass tourism if they are offered in partnership with other Hungarian and international organisations.
The aim of the Humtour initiative is to make community-based sustainable projects available for both Hungarian and foreign tourists.
